American Football cover The Cure's 'Boys Don't Cry'

Original: American Football Cover The Cure’s 'Boys Don’t Cry' & Nod to 'Never Meant'

American Football have released a cover of The Cure's 1979 classic 'Boys Don't Cry', and fans have noted a nod to the band's own emo touchstone 'Never Meant' woven into the recording. The release brings together two generations of melancholic guitar music and is drawing attention from listeners of both acts.

Why now: The unlikely pairing of a beloved emo band covering a post-punk classic is generating fresh buzz around both acts.
