Original: His audacious plan to open-source EVERY PART of a drone // OPENDRONE
OpenDrone is a project aiming to make every component of a drone open-source, from hardware to software, so anyone can build, modify and repair their own fully open drone. The project's creator is laying out how the plan would work and what challenges stand in the way. The idea is drawing attention from drone hobbyists and open-source hardware enthusiasts.
Why now: Drone communities are actively debating whether a fully open-source drone is feasible and what it would mean for hardware and software development.
