Israeli artillery fire has been reported in Maifadoun, southern Lebanon, according to open-source monitoring accounts tracking activity along the Israel-Lebanon border. The reports come amid ongoing cross-border exchanges between Israel and Hezbollah that have repeatedly drawn fire on villages in the south of the country. Observers are watching for further escalation in the area.
Why now: Ongoing Israel-Hezbollah hostilities keep cross-border shelling a focal point of regional news coverage.
