ASVEL busy on and off the court in France
Original: asvel
French basketball club ASVEL is drawing attention across several fronts. Tony Parker's Lyon-based side beat Paris Basketball in a spectacular EuroLeague game, and now hosts Chalon-Reims rival Roanne, with Parker downplaying talk of revenge. Off the court, ASVEL signed Juhann Begarin from Monaco as a medical replacement, while EuroLeague opponent Red Star Belgrade arrives in town short-handed, missing Izundu and Motley.
Why now: A busy stretch of results, a high-profile EuroLeague win and a new signing have put the club in the French sports spotlight.
