Over 1,200 displaced in a day in Sudan's Blue Nile state
Original: More than 1,200 displaced in single day in Sudan’s Blue Nile state: UN migration agency
The UN migration agency says more than 1,200 people were forced from their homes in Sudan's Blue Nile state in a single day, as fighting and insecurity continue to drive displacement across the country. Sudan's civil war has already produced one of the world's largest displacement crises, and aid agencies warn that fresh displacement in Blue Nile adds pressure on an already strained humanitarian response.
Why now: Sudan's ongoing war keeps producing new waves of displacement, drawing fresh attention to the deepening humanitarian crisis.
