Posts on Mastodon claim a Scottish Conservative councillor has been representing constituents while living and working in Egypt, prompting accusations of neglecting duties. The post also mocks George Galloway, calling him 'member for the Kremlin', over his political activities. Commenters express frustration that elected representatives can allegedly serve remotely without constituents' representation being affected or addressed.

Why now: Accusations that an elected councillor is living abroad have sparked outrage about accountability in local politics.
