Indian police detained opposition leader Rahul Gandhi and several lawmakers for the third time in two days. The detentions came as Congress party figures demand the resignation of the country's election chief over a revision of voter lists in Bihar that the opposition says has disenfranchised some 130 million citizens, most of them Muslims. The repeated arrests have escalated tensions between the government and the opposition ahead of upcoming state elections.
