Isaac Cruz splits from his father as pay dispute erupts
Original: isaac cruz
Mexican boxer Isaac 'Pitbull' Cruz has parted ways with his father, who worked in his corner, and the split has turned contentious. The father is now claiming an unpaid purse and demanding compensation for what he calls an unjustified dismissal, while telling Mexican media his son still needs to go through certain processes to become the face of boxing. The family rift and money dispute have put the fighter back in the headlines in Mexico.
Why now: The public falling-out and compensation claim between Cruz and his father is fresh, personal news about a top Mexican boxer.
