Drone strikes kill four women in Ed Damazin, Sudan
Original: Sudan war: Four women killed in drone strikes on Ed Damazin, Blue Nile
Four women were killed in drone strikes on Ed Damazin, the capital of Sudan's Blue Nile state, as the country's war continues to spread beyond the front lines around Khartoum and Darfur. The strikes on a city previously largely spared direct fighting have raised fears of widening violence in the south-east of the country.
Why now: The deadly strikes on Ed Damazin signal the Sudan war expanding to a new region, drawing fresh attention.
