Justice Alito warns over surge of Supreme Court emergency appeals

Original: Scorpion & the toad…, tiger by the tail…, don’t complain about the monster you created jackass. # Alito says # SCOTUS ca

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito has spoken out about the escalating volume of emergency appeals reaching the Court, saying it cannot stem the flow, and has voiced concern over former President Donald Trump's rhetoric. Critics online are mocking Alito, arguing he helped create the situation he now laments, invoking fables like the scorpion and the frog to suggest the Court bears responsibility for the crisis it faces.

Why now: Alito's criticism of Trump's rhetoric and the emergency docket surge strikes critics as hypocritical given the conservative majority's own role in enabling it.
