New Carrie adaptation called best since De Palma's film
Original: The New Carrie Is Easily the Best Adaptation of Stephen King’s Book Since De Palma’s Movie
A new adaptation of Stephen King's Carrie is drawing praise, with critics calling it the best screen version of the novel since Brian De Palma's 1976 film. The verdict, voiced by Slate, suggests the production has finally captured the horror classic in a way decades of earlier remakes failed to do, reigniting debate over how King's debut novel should be adapted.
Why now: A fresh Carrie adaptation is being praised as the first worthy successor to the beloved 1976 film.
