A small room in Pompeii near a kitchen, part of a house of ill repute, was apparently rented out as lodging, with faded wall art believed to have functioned as a service menu. People are sharing the find as historical trivia, joking that it was a short-term rental centuries before Airbnb existed.

Why now: The comparison to modern short-term rental platforms makes the ancient find feel topical and shareable.
