India Pushes Drug-Free Schools With Nasha Mukt Vidyalaya Initiative
Original: Nasha Mukt Vidyalaya Initiative: Strengthening Schools for a Drug/Substance-Free Environment
The Nasha Mukt Vidyalaya Initiative aims to strengthen schools across India as drug- and substance-free environments, encouraging institutions to meet tobacco-free educational institution standards. The campaign focuses on awareness, prevention and healthier campuses for students. Attention is growing around how schools will implement the guidelines and support pupils in avoiding tobacco and other substances.
Why now: Renewed public attention on keeping schools free of drugs and tobacco has put the initiative back in the spotlight.
