Every book Carrie picks in 'Carrie' has been banned
Original: 'Carrie' reading list: Every library book Carrie picks has been banned
A list circulating among readers notes that every library book Carrie White checks out in Stephen King's 'Carrie' has been banned. The observation has renewed discussion of the novel's themes of bullying and ostracism, and of the irony that the books chosen by a bullied outcast were themselves targeted for removal from libraries.
Why now: Ongoing debates over book bans in schools and libraries are prompting readers to revisit this detail from the classic novel.
