Jaishankar calls UN 'most useless' in sharp criticism
Original: ‘Most Useless...’: Jaishankar’s Explosive Attack On UN Comes With Fiery Swipe At US | Watch
India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar launched an unusually blunt attack on the United Nations, calling it the 'most useless' international body, while also taking a pointed swipe at the United States over its approach to global institutions. The remarks have drawn wide attention, with many applauding the minister's candour and others warning the criticism could strain diplomatic ties.
Why now: A senior Indian minister publicly and harshly criticising the UN and the US is rare and provocative, sparking debate about India's foreign policy stance.
