Poll finds Maryland voters oppose redistricting ballot question
Original: Poll: Voters oppose redistricting ballot question when presented 'meat of the political outcome'
A new poll reported by Maryland Matters finds that voters oppose a redistricting ballot question once they are shown what the survey describes as the meat of the political outcome, rather than just the measure's wording. The findings suggest support shifts when voters understand the partisan consequences of how district lines would be drawn. The poll is fueling debate ahead of the vote.
Why now: Voters are weighing a redistricting ballot question whose partisan stakes the new poll says reduce support.
