Green activist behind anti-Zionism motion linked to Heathrow plotter
Original: Green activist behind anti-Zionism motion was 'close friend' of Heathrow terror plotter https://www.standard.co.uk/news/
The Evening Standard reports that a Green activist who pushed an anti-Zionism motion was described as a close friend of a man involved in a Heathrow suicide bomb plot. The story ties the activist, named as Lubna Speitan, to the convicted plotter and is drawing attention to the Green Party's internal politics and its stance on Israel-related motions.
Why now: The reported personal link between a party activist and a convicted terrorist is politically damaging for the Green Party and sparks debate about extremism within political movements.
