Former A Coruña mayor Vázquez says he will vote for the PP

Original: francisco vázquez vázquez

Paco Vázquez, a historic figure in Spain's Socialist Party and former mayor of A Coruña, has announced he will vote for the conservative Popular Party in the 29-N election. The move by a longtime PSOE politician to back its main rival has drawn attention in Spain and fuelled debate about discontent within Socialist ranks ahead of the vote.

Why now: A prominent veteran Socialist publicly defecting to the PP ahead of a snap election is striking news.
