White House unable to explain Trump's 'doing the nuclear' claim
Original: 'They were doing the nuclear': White House fails to explain Trump's weird claim
Donald Trump made a cryptic remark that 'they were doing the nuclear', and White House staff could not clarify what he meant when pressed on it. Commentators are treating the administration's failure to explain the comment as emblematic of confusion around the president's off-the-cuff statements, and the clip is spreading widely online as people mock and debate what he was referring to.
Why now: The White House's inability to explain a presidential remark has made the confusing quote a viral talking point.
