Badenoch to frame next UK election as 'battle for the soul of the nation'
Original: Next election will be 'battle for the soul of the nation', Badenoch to say https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/kemi
Kemi Badenoch is set to tell the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham that the next general election will be a 'battle for the soul of the nation', in a speech that reportedly draws on Margaret Thatcher's legacy. The remarks cast Labour's government as a threat to Britain's values and position Badenoch's leadership as a fight for the country's identity.
Why now: The Conservative leader's combative conference speech framing is fresh news from the UK political season.
