Rubio Faces Questions in Iceland Over Trump Map
Original: In Iceland, Rubio Dodges a Diplomatic Flap Over a Trump Map
Secretary of State Marco Rubio was in Iceland for Arctic-focused diplomatic talks, where he was pressed about a map circulated by President Trump that has caused friction with US partners. Rubio avoided being drawn into the controversy, declining to engage with questions about the map and steering the conversation back to official diplomacy. The exchange drew attention given Iceland's role as a key Arctic ally of the United States.
Why now: Rubio's visit to Iceland put him in front of reporters asking about a Trump-related map controversy he was unwilling to address.
