German debate swirls over CDU's disputed vote tally

Original: @ tagesschau Ein Dank an die # CDU , auch wenn Herr # Frei meint, dass es Spekulation sei, dass die Stimmen aus der Part

A dispute has broken out in Germany over how the CDU/CSU union bloc secured votes, with commentator Philipp Fritz or similar figures including politician Thorsten Frei dismissing claims that dissenting votes came from within the party as 'speculation'. Critics counter that the remark implies other deputies crossed their own party's principles to help the union. The exchange, aired around tagesschau coverage, has drawn attention to internal party discipline.

Why now: Germans are debating claims that votes on a recent political decision came from inside the CDU, which party figures publicly deny.
