Cuban Americans sour on Trump's immigration policies
Original: Cubans in U.S. sour on Trump's immigration policies
Cuban immigrants and Cuban Americans in the United States are expressing growing disappointment with President Trump's immigration policies, according to NPR. The community, long a key Republican voting bloc in Florida, is rethinking its support as tighter immigration enforcement and harder paths to status affect Cubans and other migrants. The shift could have political consequences in a state where Cuban American votes often prove decisive.
Why now: A traditionally pro-Republican community turning critical of Trump's immigration agenda is politically significant, especially ahead of future elections.
