Swinney alerts ministerial code advisers over pension claim row
Original: john swinney
Scotland's First Minister John Swinney has contacted the advisers who oversee the ministerial code amid a dispute over a lost pension claim. The referral hands the issue to the independent advisers tasked with policing standards in government. The move is being reported in Scottish media and is likely to draw scrutiny of how ministers handle constituents' cases and personal financial matters.
Why now: The First Minister's referral of a live controversy to the ministerial code advisers is newsworthy and politically sensitive.
