US invites NATO future talks without key allies
Original: polen nato
The US administration has convened a discussion about the future of NATO, but several important allied governments were not invited, German outlet WELT reports. The meeting comes amid ongoing debate inside the alliance over burden-sharing, defence spending and the war in Ukraine. In Poland and neighbouring countries, the talks are being closely watched, as eastern flank members fear decisions about the alliance's direction could be made without them at the table.
Why now: Concern in Poland and other eastern allies about being excluded from NATO's future planning.
