Columnist urges Indiana Fever to part ways with Sophie Cunningham

Original: candace buckner

Candace Buckner of The Athletic has called on the Indiana Fever to move on from guard Sophie Cunningham, arguing the team has become a 'circus' that needs to refocus on basketball. Her column says even the Caitlin Clark experience took a backseat to the surrounding drama. The Fever's general manager responded with a one-word take on Cunningham's future, and other WNBA analysts have echoed the sentiment.

Why now: A prominent columnist's blunt criticism of a popular Fever player has sparked debate about the team's direction.
