Pocket gadget detects nearby Meta Ray-Bans smart glasses
Original: Another fun side project from my underground laboratory: a pocket detector that alerts me when nearby Meta Ray-Bans powe
A developer has built a small pocket-sized device that detects when Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses power on nearby and estimates how far away they are. The detector runs on an ESP-32 microcontroller with a battery and speaker in a 3D-printed case. The project is drawing attention as a privacy tool, letting people know when camera-equipped glasses are active around them.
Why now: Growing public concern about being unknowingly recorded by camera-equipped smart glasses makes a detection device noteworthy.
