Encrypted 'private ink' keeps journal notes sealed on your device
Original: Some margin notes are only for you. Private ink seals your private notes on your own device before they leave it. # jour
A privacy feature called private ink is drawing attention among readers and journaling enthusiasts: handwritten margin notes are encrypted on the user's own device before they are stored or synced anywhere. Fans of journaling and commonplacing say the tool finally lets them keep their most personal reading notes genuinely private, though details about the maker and release remain unclear.
Why now: Growing concern over who can read personal notes stored in apps and the cloud has made device-level encryption for journaling a talking point.
