Afwerki Calls for Non-Interference in Sudan as Eritrean Soldiers Fight for Army

Original: Afwerki’s Calls for Non-Interference in Sudan as Eritrean Soldiers Continue Fighting for SAF

Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki is calling for non-interference in Sudan's war even as reports persist that Eritrean soldiers are fighting alongside the Sudanese Armed Forces. The apparent contradiction is drawing attention to Eritrea's role in the conflict and raising questions about what its troops are doing on Sudanese territory.

Why now: Eritrea's stated position on Sudan contradicts reports of its soldiers' direct involvement in the war.
