Paul Drury Says Half of Arcade History's People Could Be Gone in a Decade
Original: "In Ten Years' Time, Half the People in the Book May No Longer Be Alive" - Paul Drury on Why 'The Arcade 1971-1999' Is So Important
Writer Paul Drury has explained the urgency behind 'The Arcade 1971-1999', a book documenting the golden age of arcades, warning that within ten years half the people featured in it may no longer be alive. He argues the book matters as a record of the era's venues, developers and players before firsthand memories of arcade culture are lost forever.
Why now: The book's release and its preservation message are resonating with retro gaming fans concerned that arcade culture's firsthand witnesses are ageing.
