Emmys to stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video

Original: The Emmys are leaving broadcast TV for Amazon’s Prime Video

The Emmy Awards are moving off broadcast television, with reports from CNN and local ABC affiliates saying the ceremony will air on Amazon's Prime Video. The shift marks a major change for one of TV's biggest nights, which has traditionally been broadcast on network television, and reflects the wider migration of live entertainment to streaming platforms.

Why now: It is a significant, surprising move of a major awards show from free broadcast TV to a streaming service.
