Sarasota County urges voters to return mail ballots early
Original: Sarasota County urges early return of mail ballots for Nov. 3 election
Sarasota County officials are asking voters who requested mail ballots for the November 3 election to return them as early as possible. The appeal reflects concerns that high mail-voting volume could delay processing, and election offices want ballots in hand well before Election Day so every vote can be counted on time.
Why now: Election officials nationwide are pressing voters to act early amid expectations of record mail voting in the 2020 election.
