A US envoy has met Sudan's army chief in what is described as a rare face-to-face meeting, held in Egypt. The talks come as Sudan's civil war, fought between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces since 2023, continues to drive one of the world's largest humanitarian crises.
