The Sudan Joint Force says it has taken control of Bir Saliba, an area in West Darfur, as fighting continues across Sudan. The claim, circulated via conflict-monitoring channels and rated as moderate-confidence ground combat reporting, has drawn attention from observers tracking the war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces. Independent verification of the battlefield claim remains limited.
Why now: The claim signals shifting territorial control in Darfur amid Sudan's ongoing civil war.
