Claims of US disappearances spreading as media accused of silence
Original: Disappearances in U.S. have been underway and the media is silent https://www. tilley.blog/disappearances-in- u-s-have-b
Blog posts and shared links on Mastodon claim disappearances are underway in the United States while mainstream media stays silent. The posts tie the claim to reports of solitary confinement of disabled people with memory loss, and link to the Center for Constitutional Rights. Details remain unverified, and little is known about who is allegedly disappearing or how many people are affected.
Why now: Social media users are amplifying unverified claims of state wrongdoing that they say mainstream outlets are ignoring.
