Pennsylvania measles outbreak shows no sign of slowing
Original: Pennsylvania’s measles outbreak shows no sign of slowing
Health officials in Pennsylvania are contending with a measles outbreak that continues to spread with no sign of slowing. The outbreak has drawn attention amid ongoing concerns about declining vaccination rates and the resurgence of a disease once considered eliminated in the United States. Residents are being urged to check their immunisation status as cases persist.
Why now: Measles, highly contagious and officially eliminated in the US, returning and spreading unchecked is alarming public health news.
