Commenters blame capitalism for a stack of global crises
Original: Nice planet you got there. Be a shame if multiple, obvious, preventable, longstanding crises assailed it. # capitalism #
A widely shared online remark argues that the planet is being assailed by multiple obvious, preventable and longstanding crises, listing climate change, artificial intelligence, fascism, vaccine misinformation, infectious disease, cancer, nuclear threats and the Anthropocene, and ties them to capitalism. It has drawn engagement and is circulating as a pointed summary of overlapping global problems.
Why now: It condenses widespread anxiety about simultaneous global crises into a punchy anti-capitalist framing that people are echoing.
