Devin AI Engineer Gains Persistent Memory and Dreaming Features
Original: Cognition Adds Persistent Memory and Dreaming to Devin AI Engineer
Cognition has announced new capabilities for its Devin AI software engineer, adding persistent memory across sessions and a 'dreaming' function that lets the agent consolidate knowledge when idle. The update means Devin can carry context between tasks instead of starting fresh each time, which the company positions as a step toward longer-running autonomous engineering work.
Why now: Cognition's update to Devin marks a notable step in AI agents' ability to retain and build on past work, a key limitation of current tools.
