The Generallandesarchiv Karlsruhe is hosting the premiere of the documentary 'Markgrafenstraße 41 – Das Feuer, das noch brennt' on Friday, 16 October at 6 pm, followed by a panel discussion. The film remembers Fethiye and Alahattin Yilmaz, who died in a fire in the night of 16 October 1996, an event long debated as a possible racist arson attack.
Why now: The premiere marks the anniversary of the deadly 1996 fire, a case still discussed in Germany over whether it was racially motivated.
