Original: Stephen A. weighs in on Wemby not promoting betting sites: Deserves PROFOUND respect! | First Take
ESPN's Stephen A. Smith praised Victor Wembanyama on First Take, saying the San Antonio Spurs star deserves 'profound respect' for declining to promote sports betting sites. Smith argued the young French center's refusal to attach his name to gambling brands sets a strong example in a league increasingly filled with betting partnerships and advertising.
Why now: Sports gambling's growing presence in the NBA is a hot topic, and a star player publicly refusing betting endorsements stands out.
