Original: nidal hasan

President Trump has approved the execution by firing squad of Nidal Hasan, the former Army psychiatrist convicted of killing 13 people in the 2009 Fort Hood massacre. The Pentagon confirmed the decision, moving forward a death penalty case that has stalled for years as Hasan awaited execution at Fort Leavenworth.

Why now: News just broke that the federal government is moving to carry out the first military execution in decades.
