Original: 'We all have huge sympathy': Why England cricket ready to fund West Indies Test
England cricket officials say they are prepared to help fund a West Indies Test match, with figures expressing 'huge sympathy' for the financially struggling Caribbean side. The support reflects growing concern over West Indies' economic plight and Test cricket's shrinking global spread, and signals England's willingness to step in where governing bodies have not.
Why now: West Indies cricket's financial crisis and the future of Test cricket are in the news, and England's offer of support is an unusual gesture.
