The Seattle Seahawks are signing veteran running back Joe Mixon as they deal with injuries in their backfield. The move adds an experienced ball-carrier to a position group hit hard by injuries early in the season. Mixon, previously a Pro Bowl back with the Bengals and Texans, now gives Seattle depth as the team adjusts its rotation for upcoming games.
Why now: An established NFL running back signing with an injury-hit contender is major breaking sports news.
