Mason Miller denies tipping pitches after blown save

Padres closer Mason Miller says a blown save in Milwaukee came down to poor command, not tipping his pitches. Miller, acquired from the Athletics at the trade deadline, struggled with his location in the outing, and speculation had suggested Brewers hitters might have picked up cues on what was coming. He pushed back on that theory while acknowledging he simply didn't execute. The exchange is drawing attention as San Diego continues its push in a tight playoff race.

Why now: A high-profile closer's blown save in a competitive playoff race is fueling debate over whether opponents knew his pitches.
