Harry Potter fans have created a female version of Draco Malfoy, naming her Malfoid, and the idea has circulated widely on Tumblr. The name is now being shared with amused disbelief on social media, with commenters joking that they are only just discovering a fandom trend that has apparently been popular for some time.

Why now: People find the unusual name and the fandom's habit of inventing gender-swapped characters funny or baffling.
