The British Museum's director has apologised after visitors faced problems viewing the Bayeux Tapestry, the medieval masterpiece currently on display in London. Issues reported include overcrowding and difficulties accessing the exhibition. The apology has drawn attention to how the museum is managing demand for one of the most anticipated cultural attractions of the year.
Why now: The Bayeux Tapestry's rare UK display has drawn huge crowds, and management problems at a major institution naturally spark wide discussion.
