Yemeni forces say they have retaken Mokha and secured Red Sea route
Original: Yemeni military says it has retaken Mokha and 'secured' Red Sea waterway
Yemen's military says it has retaken the port city of Mokha and 'secured' the Red Sea waterway. The claim points to operations along Yemen's western coast, a corridor that has been central to the conflict and to shipping security through the Red Sea. Details on casualties and the scale of the operation remain limited, and the opposing side's response was not immediately clear.
Why now: Claims of territorial gains on Yemen's Red Sea coast are significant for the conflict and international shipping routes.
