Original: Election officials work to clear voter registration backlog, say Texas TEAM system makes that harder
Election officials in Texas are working through a backlog of pending voter registrations, and they say the state's TEAM system is making the process harder. The statewide system, used to process and manage registration records, has reportedly slowed efforts to clear the pileup of unprocessed applications, raising concerns among local registrars about timely and accurate voter rolls.
Why now: A new statewide registration system is reportedly obstructing election officials' efforts to process registrations, drawing attention ahead of electoral deadlines.
