Victor Davis Hanson Criticizes Immigrants Who Flee Failed Countries Then Fault America
Original: Victor Davis Hanson: They Fled Failed Countries—Just to Criticize America?
Commentator Victor Davis Hanson argues that people who left failing countries to build lives in the United States should not then attack the country that took them in. The remarks, framed around immigration and gratitude, are drawing large attention and sparking debate about integration, loyalty, and free speech among immigrants in America.
Why now: The comments tap into the ongoing heated US debate over immigration and attitudes of newcomers toward their adopted country.
