New drone detection system launched at Stuttgart Airport
Original: flughafen stuttgart
Stuttgart Airport has set up a new system for detecting drones, according to a report by Deutschlandfunk. The measure is aimed at improving air safety at the airport, following widespread concern in Germany and across Europe about drone sightings near airports and the disruption they can cause to air traffic. The system is now in operation.
Why now: Drone sightings have caused repeated airport disruptions in Germany, making new counter-drone measures newsworthy.
